Two more 5***** Star plus plates by Steve: H2 32424 BEACHY HEAD & D19 62684 WIZARD of the MOOR.
32424 Beachy Head. I photographed this loco at Bournemouth Shed in 1955, it was the only H2 I ever saw.
The engine was allocated to 75A Brighton in 1955.
62684 Wizard of the Moor (name from the book by Henry Gott) allocated to Glasgow Eastfield in 1955 and was the only D19 I ever saw.
Seen at Glasgow Central whilst on holiday in 1955.
The name was PAINTED on the splashers however, Steve has manage to make up a proper name plate based on D19 62660 Butler-Henderson.
Does this make the Wizard of the Moor plate original or a unique name plate?
I am of the opinion this is original and unique although, 67 years late.
D19s: Some of the class had proper name plates and others in the class only had painted names on the splashers.
Two GREAT plates by Steve with all the paper work sorted out by Emily.
Thank you

45610 Gold Coast. As a young 10 year old in 1953 I learnt much geography and history from locomotive names.
Gold Coast always seemed such a romantic name to me. However with independence on 06 March 1957 The Gold Coast became Ghana.
The official loco name change took place at Euston in December 1958 by the first High Commissioner Sir Edward O. Asafo Aojaye.
45524 Blackpool. Great name for a great Lancashire town the gave pleasure to many hundreds of thousands of people in its heydays.
In the summer trains arrived in Blackpool every few minutes.
Both locomotives spotted at Euston in 1957.
Steve has worked wonders on producing these plates to bring back the memories for me.
THANK YOU.Nick Hanham

60529 Pearl Diver. I saw this locomotive when I was 12 years old at Durham in the summer of 1955.
This was my first named loco of BR Eastern Region.
A lovely plate and quite long, beautifully finished by Steve with a pale blue background.
Very inspirational to name locomotives after famous racing horses.
Once again for me, great memories for me of BR in the North East.Nick Hanham

Channel Islands Boat Train (non standard headboard made at Eastleigh Works in the late 1950s.
With just a picture and some rough dimensions Steve worked his magic and produce a perfect reproduction for me.
Steve's talents are amazing.
A 5*****+ board.
The CIBT ran in the late 1950s and early 1960s, from Weymouth Quay to Waterloo non stop with just a water stop at Southampton.
The usual motive power was a West Counter or Battle of Britain loco.
Great memories.Nick Hanham

45606 Falkland Islands
Another masterpiece made by Steve.
I was fortunate to visit the islands in 2001 and saw many things relating the the war in 1982.
I was very humbled by the British War Memorial.
Great memories of the islands and the locomotive.

45519 Lady Godiva
Yet another masterpiece created by Steve.
As a young train spotter, in 1953, on my way to visit my uncle in Stockport and travelling on The Pine Express 45519 Lady Godiva was the first BR Midland named loco I spotted at Birmingham New Street.
Super good 5* plate and Super good memories.
What a great team at Newtons.
